I am Jayadev, a Telugu cartoonist, born on 13 September 1940 in Kadapa. My full name is Sajja Jayadev Babu. I have been drawing cartoons and caricatures since 1959, and I truly believe that cartoons are the lifeblood of the Geetha.

I spent most of my childhood in old Chakalipet, Madras, where my love for drawing began during my school days. Alongside my passion for art, I pursued a career in academics, I taught Zoology as a Professor at Sir Thyagaraya College, Madras, until my retirement in 1997.
